Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three persons and also seized three vehicles for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in north Kashmir’s district Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by Incharge Police Post Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohammad Nawaz seized three vehicles (Tractors) and also arrested three drivers at Dargam Palhallan identified as Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani S/o Abdul Khaliq R/o Dargam, Asif Ahmad Ganie S/o Ghulam Nabi Ganie R/o Salooosa Kreeri & Showkat Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Mohd Bhat R/o Palpora Palhallan for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, adding therein that the said accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that the police registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
