One – Day Workshop on “Navigate your Software Development Journey” held at GDC Bla

Baramulla: The Post-Graduate Department of Computer Sciences at Govt. Degree College (Autonomous), Baramulla, organized a one-day workshop on “Roadmap to Success: Navigate Your Software Development Journey”, here.
Attended by approximately 100 students from diverse academic backgrounds, including BCA/BBA, MCA, and the faculty members of the college, the event aimed to provide students with comprehensive insights and guidance for a successful career in Software Development.
The session featured Er. Firdous Ahmad, an accomplished figure in the field of Software Development, serving as the Founder & CTO of Red Stag Labs, Srinagar, J&K, India, and Senior Software Architect at IDeaS Revenue Solutions, USA. His extensive experience and expertise offered a unique perspective on the ever-evolving landscape of software development.
The session began with a warm welcome from Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Najar, Head of the PG Department of Computer Sciences, who emphasized the value of interdisciplinary learning. The programme was held under the guidance of Prof. Mohammad Farooq Rather, Principal of the college.
Er. Firdous Ahmad’s presentation engaged the audience, sharing his inspiring journey and experiences in the software industry. His insights emphasized the significance of adaptability, innovation, and continuous learning in the path to success.
In addition to his personal journey, Er. Firdous Ahmad also provided valuable insights into the current industry requirements and opportunities in the software development field. He shed light on the emerging trends, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cyber-security, and how students can position themselves to leverage these opportunities.
The technical session conducted by Er. Firdous Ahmad covered essential technical skills, programming languages, software design principles, and emerging technologies. Attendees gained practical insights into the skills required to excel in the competitive world of software development.
The interactive Q&A session allowed students to engage directly with the speaker, addressing a wide range of topics from career prospects to industry trends. The insightful discussions provided a platform for students to gain clarity and guidance.
A panel discussion moderated by Prof. Tanveer Ahmad Lone featured Prof. Shakeel Ahmad Najar, Dr. Syed Mutahar Aaqib, Dr. Naseer Ahmad Lone, and Er. Firdous Ahmad. The panelists explored the broader implications of software development, sparking thought-provoking conversations on the industry’s impact on society.
Er. Firdous Ahmad concluded the session by guiding students on specialized areas within software development, encouraging them to explore their interests and align their skills with emerging domains.
