Jammu: Tightening noose against bovine smugglers, police arrested seven accused and rescued 41 bovine animals in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Vinay Shrama on Sunday said that 41 bovines have been rescued from the clutches of smugglers and seven accused are taken into the custody at different locations.
The SSP said that two vehicles have also been seized and seven FIRs are registered.
“The accused persons were going towards Kashmir with 41 bovines in vehicles and by foot,” he said adding that all bovines were rescued.
They failed to produced any permission following which a case was registered and investigation started.
