DYSS Poonch organises cricket tournament

Poonch : The Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Cricket Cup Tournament was launched Saturday in the district. The tournament is being organised by the District Administration Poonch in collaboration with District Youth Services & Sports, Poonch.
The first match was played between Nanagali Zone and Mendhar Zone. Mendhar scored 127 runs and won the match by 19 runs. Mirza and Jameel scored 43 and 31 runs respectively for Mendhar Zone, while Khalid Khan took 4 wickets for Nangali Zone. Nanagali Zone scored 105 runs, with Pinky as the top scorer with 24 runs. Auqib took 3 wickets for Mendhar Zone.
Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Khatak and Dy SP DAR, Mohd Shafiq, were the guests for the first match. They interacted with the teams, wished them good luck and advised them to play with true sportsmanship.
The second match of the day was played between Zone Mankote and Zone Balakote. Mankote won by 77 runs. Batting first, Zone Mankote scored 158 runs, with Zahid scoring a power-packed 54 runs in 28 balls. Balakote Zone managed to score only 81 runs, with Waqar scoring 20 runs. Rayasat and Istkhar took 2 wickets each.
Technical Officer, Rashid Dostam was the chief guest for the second match.
The matches were officiated by Ajaz, Shabbir, Manzoor, Aman Sharma (ReKs) and Amandeep Sharma was the online scorer. The tournament is being organised under the overall supervision of District Youth Services & Sports Officer Poonch, Mohd Qasim and technically supervised by PEL, Pawan Kumar and ReK, Perviaz Ahmed.
