Chairperson DDC B’la, DC Bla chair meet, discuss Action Plan for ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign

Baramulla: The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Baramulla, Safeena Beigh and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar Saturday chaired a meeting of all the concerned officers at Dak Bungalow here to discuss the action plan for implementation of the components envisaged under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner briefed Chairperson DDC Baramulla with regard to the progress achieved and briefed the meeting about different themes under the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign. She also gave a detailed outline of the events to be held in the district.
Safeena Beigh while speaking on the occasion highlighted the importance of the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign and said that it aims to foster a sense of unity and pride across all sections of society, celebrating India’s rich heritage and patriotic spirit.
She expressed that celebrating Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the hallmark event on the Independence Day 2023, will be paying tribute to the Veers martyrs through ceremonies at all levels across the district.
It was also informed that at least 75 plant saplings will be planted in each Panchayat and wards of the district. The officers of concerned departments were asked to ensure that the saplings are planted within well protected locations in Panchayats, Educational institutions and other places.
Safeena Beig exhorted upon the concerned officers of all departments to ensure that all the components under Mera Maati Mera Desh campaign be accomplished.
During the meeting, it was given out that programmes will be held at each Panchayat and Block between 9th August to 15th August under the theme Meri Maati Mera Desh and stakeholders involved have been asked to make all the necessary preparations well in advance for the successful conduct of the campaign.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf; Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina; Assistant Commissioner Development and all district and sectoral officers.
