Bandipora: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, the Joint Director (JD) Planning Bandipora, Imtiyaz Ahmad and DFO Bandipora Mudasir Ahmad Friday conducted a joint visit to different panchayats under JJM Fortnight campaign.
The officers especially toured the areas where structures are being executed under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). During the inspection of Gamroo-Vijhara Panchayat, it was observed that one scheme worth 8.11 crore is near completion with satisfactory execution of SR, PST, filtration plant and other allied facilities.
During the visit, officers interacted with locals and sensitised them about the management of water resources and to further responsibility of technical staff and PRIs in maintaining assets of the Jal Shakti Department.
Meanwhile, the DC informed that a total capital of 487 crore is being spent on JJM across district Bandipora to ensure saturation of quality water tap connection by 2024.
He further informed that all 151 panchayats are being covered under the Fortnight programme and around 25 supervisors among senior officers are monitoring the entire programme.
