Kishtwar: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav IAS chaired a meeting on Friday of the concerned district officers to deliberate on the prospective Action Plan under SCA to SCSP, falling under the centrally sponsored Scheme – Pradhan Mantri Anusuchit Jaati Abhyuday Yojana (PM AJAY).
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Development, Manoj Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer, Zubair Ahmed Lone, CAHO Dr. Sanjay Sen, CHO Sajid Mustafa, CAO Amjad Hussain Malik and other concerned officials.
The meeting saw a comprehensive briefing by DSWO on the process of implementation in the selected 2 villages, namely Neeju and Drab in Drabshalla and Trigam, respectively.
PM AJAY, a Government of India initiative, aims to reduce poverty among the SC communities, enhance socio-economic developmental indicators, boost literacy and promote enrollment of SCs in schools and higher educational institutions.
DC Kishtwar was updated on the achievements made during the previous year (2022-23) under PMAJAY, with 25 out of 27 identified works completed and 2 works in progress.
Additionally, under SCA to SCSP, 1 CSC center, solar lights and Skill Development Training for 6 youths in each village have been successfully executed.
The DC emphasised the need for speedy saturation of all individual beneficiaries’ schemes to achieve the goal of declaring these villages as Adarsh Grams.
Furthermore, the concerned departments were directed to project their works for the next three Plan of FY 2023-26 after a thorough assessment of infrastructural requirements in these villages, with a primary focus on skill upgradation and livelihood generation programs.
DC Kishtwar urged officers to collaborate in a coordinated manner to devise an inclusive plan for the overall development of the designated Adarsh Grams in the district under the Yojana, ensuring judicious and rational utilisation of funds.
ACD Kishtwar was also entrusted with the task of developing irrigation canals in convergence with the Adarsh Gram schemes.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to foster progress and upliftment in the region through effective planning and execution of the Action Plan 2023-26 under PMAJAY.
