7 persons arrested in illegal extraction & transportation of minerals case in Bla, 7 vehicles also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested seven persons for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district and also seized 7 vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohd Nawaz assisted by IC PP Kungamdara seized 3 vehicles (tippers) and arrested 3 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Khasipora Khoresherabad. Police in it’s statement further said that the accused have been identified as Shabir Ahmad S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Takiya Batpora, Sajad Ahmad Rather S/o Gh Ahmad & Aijaz Ahmad Rather S/o Gh Ahmad, both residents of Ratnipora Payeen.
Stating that in a similar action, a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg Imtiaz Ahmed assisted by SHO Police Station Kunzer, seized 2 vehicles (tippers) and arrested 2 drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Waripora Kunzer, Police in it’s statement further more said that the said accused have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Haji S/o Ali Mohd Haji R/o Pariswani & Mudasir Ahmad Shah S/o Ab Salam R/o Gonipora Kunzer.
Police in it’s statement also said that a police party of Police Post Mirgund seized 2 vehicles (tippers) and arrested their drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Mirchimar Mirgund, adding therein that the accused have been identified as Haroon Rashid Dar S/o Ab Rashid Dar R/o Chewa Budgam & Gulzar Ahmad Malla S/o Abdul Khaliq Malla R/o Shilwat Sumbal.
Stating that cases have been registered under relevant sections of law at respective police stations and further investigations are underway, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
