Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Post Palhallan at a checkpoint established at Palhallan Morh and arrested a drug peddler identified as Mudasir Ahmad Wani S/o Manzoor Ahmad Wani R/o Raipora Palhallan, adding therein that 145 grams of Charas was recovered from his possession.
Police in it’s statement further said that in a similar action, a Police party of Police Station Sheeri at a checkpoint established at Zandfaran Sheeri and intercepted a suspicious person who after noticing police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully, adding therein that the accused was later identified as Waseem Ahmad Sheikh S/o Abdul Majeed Sheikh R/o Heewan, besides which during search 56 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon was recovered from his possession.
Stating that both the drug peddlers have been shifted to police stations and the cases under relevant sections of law have also been registered at respective police stations against them, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information about drug peddling in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
