Samba: Samba District Administration has entered into an agreement with Central University Jammu to conduct a comprehensive skill gap survey in the district. The agreement in this regard was signed on Thursday at the district headquarters.
The survey, to be conducted under the SANKALP initiative, aims to identify current skill gaps in the district, encompassing both industry demands and skill-related needs of youth in Samba. This endeavour aims to lay the groundwork for targeted interventions and effective skill development progra
During the signing ceremony, Deputy Commissioner, Abhishek Sharma emphasised the importance of identifying and addressing skill gaps in the region. He highlighted the significance of leveraging a skilled workforce for institutions such as AIIMS Jammu and other mega infrastructural projects in Samba, contributing to regional development and growth.
Central University Jammu, specifically the School of Business Studies, will lead the execution of this survey. The nodal officer for the survey, Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kaur, will coordinate with the university to ensure seamless execution.
The MGNF Samba has pledged support to augment the survey’s success, providing insights and resources.
This skill gap survey represents an initiative by District Administration Samba and Central University Jammu to empower youth in Samba with necessary skills aligned with industry requirements and foster employability and economic growth.
