Encouraging Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav mega Cricket Tournament commenced at Poonch

Poonch : A Cricket Tournament promoting Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav 2023 commenced on Wednesday in the Sports Stadium Poonch.
The tournament was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin Mohd Choudhary in presence of Col. Manish Rana Deputy Commander 93 Inf. Brigade.
Other prominent present were Nirdosh Kumar IC Manager Sports Stadium Poonch, Prem Prakash Luthra Retd DYSSO, Narjeet Singh Retd ZPEO and all the ZPEO’s, PEL, PEM, PET, REK, NYC and staff of District unit of J&K Sports Council Poonch were also present on the occasion.
A total of 11 teams are participating representing 11 zones of District Poonch.
While speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Poonch applauds the efforts of Department of Youth Services and Sports Poonch for organising such a big event in shorter period of time. He also advised the players to work hard and must focused on academic as well and requested the players to keep themselves away from drug menace and other anti social activities and also assured his full support and cooperation for providing such platform in future for the youth to showcase their talent.
Prize distribution ceremony will be held on 15th of August 2023 Celebration Parade at Sports Stadium Poonch.
The inaugural match of AKAM 2023 Cricket Tournament was played between Mandi Zone and Kanuyian Zone and which was won by Kanuyian Zone.
Earlier toss was won by Mandi Zone and scored 77/10 in stipulated overs Mustaq and Nushad scored 17 & 16 runs for Zone Kanuyian Raja shafiq took 4 wickets. Zone Kanuyian chased the target in 6.4 overs.
Javed remained the top scorer with 44 runs. Raja Shafiq was adjudged man of the match.
Match was officiated by technical panel comprises of Gurwinder Singh PET, Aman Sharma REK, Manzoor Ahmed REK and Amandeep Sharma Online scorer.
Tournament is being organised by District Administration Poonch in collaboration with Department of Youth Services and Sports, Poonch supervised by Mohammad Qasim DYSSO, Poonch, Vijay Kumar PEM conducted the opening ceremony and tournament was technically supervised by Pawan Kumar PEL, Convener Technical Committee and Perviaz Ahmed REK convener Ground Maintenance committee.
