DC reviews progress recorded under Jal Jeevan Mission at Kulgam

Officers asked to scale up pace on ongoing works; stresses on conducting more IEC activities

Kulgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Wednesday convened a meeting of concerned Officers to review the progress of works recorded under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
During the meeting, the DC took detailed review of physical and financial progress made on various JJM Works.
S.E Hydraulics informed the chair that there are 218 works and 143 schemes/projects under JJM in the district and work is going on with a good pace. It was also informed that 09 works are completed under JJM.
The DC emphasized that every effort has to be made to ensure that the goal of tap water to all households must be achieved as per the projected timeline. He said that the Mission is envisioned to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.
He directed all the concerned officers to scale up pace on works under JJM so that the target can be achieved within the stipulated period.
He asked the officers to regularly monitor the quality and progress on all allotted works for time-bound completion.
The DC said that information dissemination is an important component of the mission and stressed on conduct of more widespread IEC activities.
During the meeting, the DC also reviewed the functioning of Pani Samitis and it was informed that all Pani Samitis are functional in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather, JD-P, Zahid Sajad; SE Hydralics, Shabir Ahmad; Executive Engineers from Qazigund and Kulgam, AEEs and other concerned Officers.
