DC Reviews ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’, ‘JJM Fortnight’ campaigns

Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Wednesday convened a meeting of the concerned officers to review the preparations for I-Day, 2023 celebrations and to review the status of the campaign ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ in the district.
The meeting discussed various preparations and arrangements to be put in place for the celebration of Independence Day-2023.
It was given out that the main function of Independence Day will be held at SK Stadium Bandipora while similar functions will be held at sub divisional level and blocks level as well as at all schools, colleges, Government Institutions, Panchayats etc.
The DC directed the concerned to keep ready all the necessary arrangements including seating arrangements, PA system, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, Medicare facilities, cleanliness and sanitation and other required arrangements well in time for the smooth celebrations of Independence Day.
Dr. Owais urged all to participate proactively with zeal and vigour in the ‘Har Ghar Tringa’ campaign. He strictly directed all the sectoral and district officers for flag hoisting at their respective offices, besides illuminating their offices and buildings besides illumination of major bridges across the district.
Later, the DC reviewed the status of “Meri Maati Mera Desh’ and ‘JJM Fortnight” campaigns under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the district.
On the occasion, the DC was informed that the campaign has commenced in the district and different activities and preparations have been started across the district.
The DC asked all departments for impactful celebrations of Independence Day under the national theme ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ across the district as per guidelines issued by the government. It was informed that the local level programmes shall also be held to pay homage to the ‘Veers’ who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.
The concerned were directed to make all necessary arrangements for ‘MittiYatra’ in all the Panchayats of the district and wards of the town. The DC enjoined upon all the officers to take part in all the events in-person besides encouraging others for the same and stressed upon all departments to ensure utmost coordination among themselves to make the campaign successful.
Meanwhile, the DC stressed on the officers to make the JJM fortnight campaign a success. He directed all the BDOs to ensure special Gram Sabhas in all the panchayats across all the three subdivisions of the district. He said the campaign aims to assess the progress made under JJM.
The meeting was attended by Nodal Officer Coordination Bandipora Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Umar Shafi Pandit; ACR Bandipora, SDM Gurez, SDM Sumbal, JD Planning Bandipora, DySP DAR and other concerned officers from civil administration.
