Kulgam: The District Election Office under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather on Tuesday convened a meeting of political parties regarding Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Municipal Electoral Roll (MER) 2023.
ADDC apprised the representatives of political parties about the schedule of SSR and shared Draft Electoral Roll with them.
They were intimated that Electoral Rolls, published by the EROs of Municipal Council/Committees are open for revision and claims and objections can be submitted from 01 August to 11 August 2023.
It was intimated that disposal of claims and objections is to be done by or before 16 August, 2023.
Further, the Special camps will be organized on 06 August (Sunday) and 10 August (Thursday) in the polling booths of Municipal areas of the district and were requested to ensure the additions of maximum eligible voters who have attained the age of 18 years up to July 01, 2023.
The final publication of the Municipal Electoral Roll will be held on 25-03-2023.
The meeting was also attended by Dy.DEO, Bilal Ahmad Kamgar; DIO Kulgam, Showkat Hussain Ganie; Election NT and other concerned.
