2 Hybrid LeT militants held in Baramula

Baramulla, August 02: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two Hybrid LeT militants in the district.

An official told news reporters  that on two Hybrid of Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit along with arms and ammunition were held during naka checking at AzadGung area of town.

The officer said on a specific information regarding movement of militahts in Baramulla who are likely to carry out militant activities in Town in view of forth coming Independence Day 2023.

A Joint forces of Baramulla Police, 53 Bn CRPF & Army 46 RR placed a MVCP at Azadgunj Old Town Baramulla, Two suspect persons who were coming towards Azadgunj Baramulla tried to flee while noticing joint naka party but was apprehended tactfully.

During their personal search 1 Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine, 4 live Pistol rounds & 1 Grenade were recovered from them and were taken into custody immediately.

The official identified both as Faisal Majeed Ganie son of Abdul Majeed of Bungalow Bagh Baramulla & Nourul Kamran Ganie son of Mohammad Akbar Ganie of Bagh-e-Islam Old Town Baramulla.

The official further added that during preliminary investigation it came forth that both the individuals are hybrid terrorists and are affiliated with banned terrorist organisation of LeT outfit and had collected the arms & ammunition for carrying terrorist activities in Town Baramulla in view of forth coming Independence Day.

He said a case under Indian Arms Act & UA (P) Act was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigations was taken up.
