Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested a rustler in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district and also recovered stolen cattle.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that on July,28 this year, Police Station Kunzer received a written application from one Mohammad Maqbool Bhat S/o Khaliq Bhat R/o Manglore who alleged therein that some unknown thieves took away three cattle (Cow, Calf & Ox) from Manglore Kunzer Baramulla. Stating that a case was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Kunzer and an investigation was also initiated, Police in it’s above quoted statement said that during preliminary investigation, SHO Police Station Kunzer called many suspects for questioning and it was after strenuous efforts revealed that one Aarif Ahmad Shah S/o Jahangir Shah R/o Takiya Batpora was zeroed in and during his questioning, he confessed his involvement in commission of crime. Police in it’s statement further said that the stolen property was also recovered from the possession of the said accused who was later arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody and the stolen cattle were also handed over to the owner after completion of legal formalities.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that people of the area have appreciated the efforts made by it for solving the case. Police on this occasion assured people to take all possible measures to curb social evils from the society and resolved that it will act tough against the individuals involved in criminal activities.
