DC Kathua reviews arrangements for JJM Fortnight celebrations

Kathua: To review arrangements for JJM fortnight, scheduled to be held from August 01 to 14, a meeting of officers was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rakesh Minhas in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
At the very outset, the SE Hydraulic Kathua briefed the meeting about the schedule of a two-week long event during which visiting officers will inspect the assets of JJM, besides checking their quality and other parameters. It was also given out in the meeting that the visiting officer will submit a detailed report on prescribed format after getting a firsthand appraisal of JJM works.
During the meeting, the arrangements for conducting special Gram Sabhas for discussing JJM, installation of Signages on all water supply schemes were reviewed.
It was informed that debates, painting competitions, rallies and street plays with themes like water conservation; climate change etc will be organized during these days. The CEO Kathua was instructed to coordinate with the Jal Shakti department to organise these programmes smoothly across all the identified schools of the district.
The DC instructed concerned officers to put in place all requisite arrangements for celebrations of JJM fortnight. He directed the visiting officers to exercise due care and diligence while consolidating the data and also emphasized on extensive field visits to ascertain ground realities. He further directed concerned executing agencies to prioritize FHTCs in all the schools, Anganwadi centres and hospitals. Besides, the DC laid thrust on saturating all the Water supply schemes under JJM within prescribed timelines so as to fulfill the resolve of ‘Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’.
The meeting was attended by ADC Kathua Ranjit Singh, CPO Kathua, ACD, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti, CEO, CMO, AEEs and other officers.
