Udhampur landslide incident: Inquiry Committee submits report; FIR being lodged against guilty persons

Udhampur: The Inquiry Committee constituted by District Magistrate, Udhampur to inquire into the landslide incident at Kaller Himiti has submitted its report along with specific recommendations.
In response to the observations and recommendations, an FIR is being lodged against all guilty persons, while departmental action shall be initiated against the delinquent officials.
Inquiry was ordered following a landslide incident that occurred on 18th of July 2023 at an under construction building in W.No – 21, Kaller Himiti, Udhampur. Two labourers had died on the spot, while six others were seriously injured in the incident.
In addition, the District Magistrate, Udhampur has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Additional District Magistrate, Udhampur to check the permissions of other ongoing constructions being carried out within the limits of the Municipal area.
