Srinagar : As a part of Civic Action Programme, police in Budgam under the banner of ‘Prevention of Drug Addiction’ on Thursday organised an anti-drug awareness rally in Khansahab area of District Budgam.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, the rally was attended by students and staff members of Government Boys Hr. Secondary School Khansahib, Government Girls Hr. Secondary School Khansahib and Boys Middle School Khansahib.
The awareness rally was flagged off by SDPO Khansahib Shri Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Malik at Government Higher Secondary School Khansahib along with SHO PS Khansahib & other officers of Budgam Police and Principals of participating schools. The rally passed through Bus Stand Khansahib, Main Market Khansahib and returned to Government Boys Higher Secondary School Khansahib, where the rally culminated.
The main aim of the rally was to spread awareness about ill effects of drug abuse and its consequences. SDPO Khansahib on the event appealed the general public to join hands with Budgam Police in curbing the abuse of drugs & related substances to eliminate this social evil from the society. Students/participants were holding banners and placards in their hands with messages against substance abuse and raised slogans against the social evil and pledged to join their hands to eradicate this menace from the society.
At the end, the participants thanked Police for conducting such awareness rallies & building a bridge of trust between police and the youth.
