Hakeem hails permission for 8th Muharram procession in Srinagar, Urges Govt to allow Ashura procession on 10th Muharam

Srinagar: Hailing Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on his decision to allow 8th Muharram procession on traditional routes of srinagar from Guru bazar to Dalgate , after about three decades , Chairman Peoples Democratic Front and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has urged the government to lift restrictions on Ashura procession on 10 th Muharam also to respect religious sentiments of the people of Jammu and kashmir . He said these procesions were the reverred and most pious religious obligation for the whole muslim community ummah .
According to a statement issued from party headquarters here, Hakeem Yaseen while hailing decision to allow 8th Muharam procession on traditional routes of Srinagar from Gurubazar ,Budshah Chowk , M A Road and Dalgate , urged the government to,likewise, take the shia community ,leaders of other religious bodies and law and order agencies into confidence so that Ashura procession on 10th Muharram is made possible. He said Muharam processions were most sacred and reverred religious obligations in honour of
Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS), the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and his companions , who offered supreme sacrifices of thier lives for upholding the values of righteousness and truth in the deserts of Karbala. “Muharram imbibes the spirit to follow the footsteps of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) for the cause of justice and humanity ,,“ PDF leader observed.
Hakeem Yaseen has appealed LG Manoj Sinha to release all the detained religious clerics also to build an atmospher of mutual trust and religious freedom in Jammu and Kashmir.
