DC reviews arrangements for Urs Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari at Ganderbal

Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir on Thursday chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for Urs Mubarak Hazrat Qamar-Ud-Din Bukhari at Reshipora Saloora, here.
During the meeting, it was informed that the urs mubarak shall commence from 23rd August to 1st September and the main congregation shall be held at Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari Reshipora Saloora.
At the outset, threadbare discussion was held regarding finalization of the arrangements for power supply, adequate safe drinking water supply, firefighting measures, traffic and parking plan, sanitation measures in and around the shrine, health, installation of stalls and other related arrangements.
Municipal Council Ganderbal was directed to ensure cleanliness in and around the shrine and installation of street lights wherever required and temporary mobile toilets near the shrine.
The Executive Engineer PDD was directed to ensure 24*7 power supply in the area besides availability of gen set at the main venue.
Similarly, the police and traffic officials were directed to ensure proper security and traffic regulations on routes leading to the shrine where large congregations are expected.
The ARTO was directed to make proper transport and parking arrangements in coordination with Dy. SP traffic and shall decide the plan for ‘no entry zone’ in advance for smooth plying of vehicular traffic during Urs days.
The meeting also discussed restoration of navigation channels for hassle free movement of motor boats, Shikaras carrying devotees to Ziyarat for observance of Urs Qamar Din Bukhari.
The DC directed I&FC and Forest departments to carry joint inspection of the water route and clear all obstacles in the water channel including weeds, bushes for smooth ply of water transport.
The meeting also finalized the arrangements for conducting cultural programmes, decoration, installation of Public Address System, installation of amusement equipment and shamyana.
The DC impressed that Urs shall be celebrated with great fervour and vigour. He exhorted upon all the departments to work in coordination and ensure all arrangements are put in place on time for smooth conduct of Urs.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Ganderbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani; Dy. SP HQ, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti and R&B, Tehsildar Ganderbal, CMO, ARTO, representatives of Qamariya Auqaf Trust and other concerned.
