Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has solved a burglary case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime in Baramulla district and alsp recovered stolen cash from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that on July 26 Police Post Mirgund received a complaint from one Gh Hassan Ganai S/o Gh Mohammad Ganai R/o Mirgund who alleged therein that he is running a JK Bank Khidmat Centre at Duslipora Singhpora Pattan and had gone for offering Zuhar prayers and some unknown burglars barged into his Khidmat Centre Office who stole cash amount of Rs. 43000/. Police in it’s statement further said that it has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Pattan and initiated further investigation into the case.
Police in its above statement said that during the course of investigation, it came to the fore that one suspicious person identified as Rameez Ahmad Naikoo S/o Gh Mohammad Naikoo R/o Ashmuji Kulgam was roaming in the area who was traced and taken to Police Post Mirgund for questioning during which the said suspect confessed his involvement in the commission of crime.
Stating that after thorough interrogation, stolen cash to the tune of Rs. 41000/- was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested in the instant case and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that people of the area have lauded the efforts taken by it for cracking/solving the case. Police on this occasion also resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.
