Properties of drug smugglers worth 41.85 lacs attached in Bla: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has attached properties of drug smugglers worth Rs. 41.85 lacs in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Baramulla Police said that a police party led by SDPO Uri Shokat Ali attached a newly constructed house value Rs 11.46 lacs (approx) and vehicle (Tata Sumo) bearing registration number JK05D-3680 value Rs 5.00 lacs (approx) belonging to drug smuggler namely Mohammad Naseer Bhatti S/o Nasar Din Bhatti R/o Madiyan Kamalkote after obtaining legal sanction from competent authorities, adding therein that the said house was linked to case vide FIR No. 12/2023 under relevant sections of law of Police Station Uri. Police in it’s statement also said that earlier the investigation proved that the said movable immovable property was raised/used for Illicit Trafficking by the drug Smuggler.
Police in it’s above statement further said that 1.17 Kgs of contraband Brown Sugar and cash amount of Rs. 25.39 lacs was recovered at the time of raid conducted at Kamalkote Uri from the drug smugglers namely Mohammad Naseer Bhatti S/o Nasar Din Bhatti, Mohammad Rayaz Khanday S/o Mohammad Shareef, Mohamad Pazeer Khanday S/o Abdul Majid & Mohammad Fayaz Khanday S/o Mohammad Sharief, all residents of Madiyan Kamalkote.
In the the concluding para of it’sabove quote statement police said that people of the area lauded the initiative of Baramulla Police with regard to attachment of moveable/immovable property which has been raised/used for Illicit Trafficking by the drug smugglers in the district.
