Srinagar : Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah on Wednesday observed Vijay Diwas to pay homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil war in 1999.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office BGSBU here, vice-chancellor Prof Akbar Masood led the teachers, the non-teaching staff, and the students to pay homage to the Kargil martyrs who laid down their lives to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the country. Rich tributes were paid to the Kargil Heros for their exemplary courage and valor by the VC and other senior officials including the deans and heads of the departments.
On the occasion a plantation drive was organized by the University. Vice Chancellor Prof. Akbar Masood along with senior functionaries of the varsity planted various trees in the premises of the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism.
