Srinagar, July 26: The body of a 25-year-old woman was exhumed on Wednesday in the Mankote area of the Mendhar sub-division in Poonch district.
The woman had died under mysterious circumstances with initial reports suggesting that she consumed some poison on July 20 at Tain Mankato area in Mendhar. She was later taken to hospital where she died, as per officials.
District Magistrate Poonch on the demand of the father of the woman later ordered exhumation.
On Wednesday, the body was exhumed in presence of magistrate. The body has been shifted to government sub district hospital Mendhar for postmortem, the officials said the news reports.
Besides SDM Mendhar M J Khan, Tehsil Haveli Poonch Anjum Bashir Khattak, Tehsildar Mankote Maroof Qadri, SDPO Sheezen Bhat, SHO Sajad Bania, locals Sarpanch and family members of the woman.
