DC Ramban reviews I-day arrangements, preparedness for ‘Mitti Yatra”

Ramban: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Ramban, Mussarat Islam on Tuesday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the arrangements for Independence Day, 2023 celebration in the district.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Rajinder Sharma; Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Addl. SP, Gaurav Sharma; ACR, Gias-Ul-Haq; CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal, senior officers of the Army, CRP, IRP and other civil departments attended the meeting.
The DC informed that Independence Day shall be celebrated under national theme ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ across the district as per guidelines issued by the Government.
It was informed that the local level programs shall also be held to pay homage to the ‘Veers’ who had sacrificed their lives for our future preferentially freedom fighters, defence personnel. As part of this initiative a ‘Shilaphalakam’ will be erected at each location to pay tributes to Veers followed by flag hoisting ceremony and singing of the National Anthem.
The meeting was further informed that ‘MittiYatras’ from Panchayats would be taken to blocks where from it would be collected in an earthen urn for forward journey to New Delhi by a youth from each block for construction of the National Memorial at Kartavya Path. The Assistant Commissioner Development was directed to make all necessary arrangements for ‘MittiYatra” in all blocks.
It was decided in the meeting that the district-level function shall be organized at District Police Lines Ground, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by a march past by the contingents of JKP, JKAP, Forest Protection Force, Army band and schools.
In the meeting, a threadbare discussion was also held on various arrangements related to the smooth conduct of the function like seating, barricading, drinking water, power supply, sanitation, fire services, security, transport, traffic regulations, illumination of government buildings and other necessary arrangements on the national day function.
The DC directed district heads of all departments to ensure their presence at the Independence Day function at District Headquarters besides directing their subordinate officers and officials to attend national functions at their respective jurisdictions.
The Deputy Commissioner also suggested various themes for the cultural programme and asked the high-level cultural committee to involve local renowned and budding artists to make the nation function more attractive and joyful with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm.
DC constituted various committees to ensure foolproof arrangements including Cultural Programme Monitoring Committee, Reception Committee, etc to make the National function a grand success.
On the occasion, Addl. SP reviewed security related arrangements and assured foolproof arrangements during the I-Day celebration
