Rajouri: The Nowshera Forest Division organized a number of Plantation drives under the “One Beat Guard One Village” programme. Among these, one such drive was conducted at village Prat of Sunderbani Range. Amit Kumar, Panch Panchayat Prat, other PRI members and a large number of villagers took part in the drive.
Beat Guard Salheri, Bal Raj Raina conducted the drive with the help of Block Forest Officer Dharamsal, Rajinder Dev Sharma and other staff members. A number of fruit, Medicinal and fodder plants were planted & distributed.
Some plants were also planted under “Ek Ped Lagayein Beeti Ke Naam” campaign. The plants were planted by Mahira Anjum D/O Makhan Din, Rubeena Akhter D/O Kala Khan, Suman Devi D/O Tamesh Kumar.
The PRI members and general public of the area lauded the efforts of Forest department for increasing the green cover and thanked Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri, Satyendra Maurya, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera and Sudesh Kumar, Range Officer Sunderbani/Lamberi for organising these plantation drives and creating awareness among the villagers regarding the importance of increasing tree cover.
