Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Sunday described the Manipur violence as a tragedy for India.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a condolence meeting here, Farooq said “Manipur violence is a tragedy for all of us”.

For everybody who is Indian it (Manipur) is a resurrection scene for him, he observed.

He said: ‘how could these people do this and spread hatred just for the chair..very unfortunate”.

“Curse on this Chair which is wedging gulf between the people”, Farooq said and added “the God is one and in which picture you would see him is up to you”.

The member parliament (MP) said “If you want to see him (God) in a temple or in a mosque he is there. Knowing this..still we are being divided …unfortunate”.

He said the whole world is talking about Manipur violence. The Prime Minister has also replied to this in the strongest words (Manipur incident). But he should have said it in Parliament, he added.

“The Prime Minister should have said it in Parliament and also listened to us .We hope that we will be provided an opportunity to speak in the Parliament on the Manipur issue,” he said and added “We don’t have to tease anybody but will narrate our views from the core of our heart”.
