Baramulla: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday trapped and arrested a Nazrat Junior Assistant Syed Marifat of Tehsil Office Boniyar for accepting bribe.
An official told Kashmir Horizon that one Syed Marifat Nazrat Junior Assitant at Tehsil Office Boniyar Baramulla was trapped and arrested by a team of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while demanding and accepting Bribe of Rs 10,000
He said that on receipt of the complaint, a FIR was registered, under section 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 in Police Station ACB and an investigation was taken up.
Accordingly, a trap team was constituted. The trap team laid a successful trap and caught Syed Marifat , while accepting a bribe on the spot.
The officer was taken to a police station in Boniyar and further investigation into the matter is going on.
