DC, RPO launch maiden 2-day Spl Passport Drive at Poonch

180 slots being cleared in one day

Poonch: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Choudhary, along with Regional Passport Officer, Rajesh Kumar on Saturday inaugurated a two day special passport drive here in the new Auditorium of Government Degree College.
The drive saw an overwhelming response from the public, with nearly 180 slots being cleared in one day.
The special passport drive has been organised by District Admission in collaboration with Regional passport officer Jammu.
The special passport drive is an initiative of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M. Chowdhary for the benefit of the youth who aspire to seek overseas job opportunities.
The innovative approach of District Administration has been widely appreciated, especially the youths of the locality.
A dedicated team led by Regional Passport Officer, Jammu, Rajesh Kumar, Jammu has been deputed for the special drive which continued from 9:00 A.M to 5 P.M. The team conducted the verification of essential documents and captured biometric data of the applicants who had booked their appointments for the designated day & time. The applicants with pre-booked appointments were only allowed for the entry.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch and Regional Passport Officer Jammu interacted with the applicants during the special drive.
Meanwhile, the civil society members have appreciated the special drive initiative taken by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch.
This special drive was attended by ADC ,Tahir Mustafa Malik; Deputy Director Employment, Mohd Rafiq; General Manager DIC, Dr. Zakir Hussain; Project Officer (ICDS), Khalid Wafa; ARTO, Basharat Mehmood; Tehsildar Haveli, Anjum Bashir Khatak and Naib Tehsildar, Maroof Khan besides other district and sectoral officers.
