Mumbai: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole on Friday lambasted the BJP for speaking against the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of India and alleged that even an MLA of the saffron party dared to say such things only because the party was in power.
Talking to mediapersons at the state Assembly premises, Patole said that taking cognisance of the Manipur incident, in which a video emerged of two women being paraded nude, the Supreme Court said that either the government should take action or else the court would do so.
A BJP MLA from the state criticised the role of the Chief Justice and tweeted that the court should hear it.
“The courage of the BJP MLA to talk about the Supreme Court and the Chief Justice of India has come because it is a matter of power,” he said.
Patole said he will inform the state Governor and Chief Justice of India about it. UNI
