MESMERIZING. Lolab Valley is a hidden paradise nestled in the lap of snow-clad mountains, offering a tranquil retreat for those seeking solace in nature’s embrace. Relatively untouched and less explored compared to other popular tourist destinations in Kashmir, making it a hidden gem for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. The valley is a haven for trekkers, offering numerous trails that showcase its stunning landscapes and provide opportunities to explore the surrounding mountains. For poet Iqbal, (widely known as Allama Iqbal, is best remembered in India as the man who penned one of the most patriotic songs ever written, ‘Saare jahan se achha Hindostan humara’.) Lolab represents more than just a physical landscape. He sees it as a manifestation of divine grace, symbolized by the yearning and longing depicted in the verse “Paani teri chesmun ka tadapta huwa seemab” (The water of your spring is a restless sea). The beauty and serenity of the valley are personified in the verse “Murgan sahar teri fazanwu main hai baitab” (In your morning, the birds are wide awake).
