3 drug peddlers arrested, Contraband substance also recovered: Police

Srinagar :, Police on Thursday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in Handwara and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Langate at a checkpoint established on Yaroo- Langate road, arrested three drug peddlers identified as Aijaz Ahmad Teli S/o Ghulam Qadir R/o Turkpora, Umar Ahmd Lone S/o Imtiyaz Ahmad R/o Kultoora and Mudasir Ahmad Lone S/o Mohammad Maqbool R/o Udipora, adding therein that during search, 80 grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the said accused who were shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered a case vide FIR No.154/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Handwara and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
