3-day Soft Skills Workshop Begins at SKUAST-K in Srinagar

Srinagar : A three-day Soft Skills Workshop for upgrading the communication and leadership qualities of the students began at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir’s Faculty of Forestry, Benhama here on Thursday.
According to a statement issued from SKUAST-K here, the workshop is being held in association with Avant Garde Business School, an exclusive partner of DMI, in consonance with New Education Policy 2020. Dean, Faculty of Forestry, Prof SA Gangoo welcomed the officials from Avant Garde Business School and gave insights into the new national education policy and the importance of such courses. Dr Mehboob Makhdhoomi, CEO, Avant Garde Business School gave a brief overview of the requirement and objectives of the program. Director Avant Garde Bussiness School Syed Faizan Bukhari conducted the activity-based icebreaking session followed by a session on leadership.
Prof Akhlaq Amin Wani Head (NRM) gave information on the next-generation transcript adopted by SKUAST-K and its value under NEP 2020. Dr Shah Murtaza, Course Director, presented a detailed overview of the workshop. He elaborated on the training modules to be delivered covering all the aspects of soft and communication skills. Dr Mehboob Makhdhoomi, CEO, Avant Garde Business School and lead speaker of the workshop in his address underlined the challenges of cultural and linguistic barriers globally among professional students and the role of soft communication skills to address them He appreciated the efforts of the organizing team and urged the sponsors for more such programs in future. The inaugural session ended with a formal vote of thanks by Prof. P. A. Khan, Head (FBT). Prof PA Sofi, Prof GM Bhat, Dr SN Zaffar and Dr Khursheed Ahmad, Dr MA Islam, Dr KA Sofi, Dr Aasif Ali Gatoo, Dr Amir Bhat, Dr Iqbal Jeelani and Dr M Maqbool Rather were among others who attended the program.
