Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested two persons in north Kashmir’s district Baramulla and also recovered illegally procured banned forest herbs (Sheetkhar) from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Drung Tangmarg, intercepted two persons who on noticing police party tried to flee but were apprehended tactfully. Police in it’s statement further said that the accused were identified as Zubair Ahmad Malik S/o Ab Majeed Malik R/o Mashkhud & Adil Ahmad Khan S/o Gh Mohd Khan R/o Ganiwani, adding therein that during search, it has recovered 13 Kgs of Banned Forest Herbs (Sheetkhar) from their possession, besides which the said accused were and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Tangmarg and initiated further investigations into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement urged people to cooperate with it in curbing social crimes from the society and reassured them criminals would be dealt under law.
