Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has launched a wild cannabis destruction drive in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that on recieving inputs about the presence of Wild Cannabis at Nai Basti Delina Baramulla a police party from Police Post Delina led by Incharge Police Post Delina alongwith Executive Magistrate of Revenue department, Excise Department and respectables of Delina Baramulla under the overall supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmad Khan launched a special drive against wild cannabis, adding therein that during the drive a huge quantity of wild cannabis spread over four Kanals of land was destroyed.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that people of the areas have widely appreciated the action taken by it and assured their full cooperation in future to eradicate the drug menace from the society. Police also appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law.
