DC B’gam chairs DCD Committee meeting, Calls for strengthening Cooperatives, saturation in computerization of PACs

Budgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo on Tuesday chaired district level District Cooperative Development Committee meeting at Conference Hall here.
Stressing on the strengthening of the Cooperative movement at ground level, the DC directed on formation of FPOs in the district.
While FPOs already exist in 7 blocks of the district, instructions were given to the concerned agency to write about formation of the same in other blocks to the concerned central agency and ground work including mobilisation and registration for it be initiated simultaneously in all blocks.
The DC emphasised on timely adoption of model bylaws by all primary agriculture credit societies (PACS) to make them economic generation resources. He also directed for timely updating of data on the National Cooperative Database under phase – I and phase II in the district.
Instructions were given to all line departments to work in complete synergy for smooth convergence of PACS with schemes including PM- Kusum besides identification PACS for setting up of Jan Aushadhi Kendras at all required spots in the district.
During the meeting, Deputy Registrar Cooperative Budgam, Abida Nabi presented an overview of the present status of cooperative societies in the district besides deliberating upon the work being done to strengthen the Cooperative movement across the district.
The DC directed the officers to ensure CSC registration of all the 54 PACS of District Budgam be completed by next week.
He also directed the Cooperative Department to ensure higher registration of FPOs during the current financial year.
DC also reviewed the operation of Super Bazar, registration on GeM, and forming and revival of Cooperative societies.
Among others, the meeting was attended by the Additional District Development Commissioner, Dr Akramullah Tak; JD Planning, ACR, Chief Agricultural Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, LDM, DDM NABARD, District Head KVK, representatives of Cooperative Bank, JKMPCL.
