Doda hosts 2-day Lal Draman Festival from Aug 5, DC finalises arrangements for mega event

Doda: In the run up of hosting the much anticipated Lal Dramen festival, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan on Monday chaired a meeting to finalise the arrangements for the mega event.
The 2- day festival is scheduled to start from August 5th in the sprawling Lal Dramen meadows. The meeting discussed the action plan and inventory of activities, besides holding detailed discussion on varied arrangements for the visitors.
Transportation/ logistics for the festival were thoroughly reviewed, and the Deputy Commissioner set timelines for key arrangements to be made for the event. Emphasizing the importance of adequate facilities, the DC instructed the concerned officers to make provision of tents, electric generators, lights, sound systems and other necessary amenities by August 4th without fail.
To maintain cleanliness and hygiene, the Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to deploy an adequate number of sanitation staff two days prior to the event.
Further, he urged the Power Development Department (PDD) and the Municipal Committee Doda to take measures for proper lighting at the venue and the approach paths leading to it, to ensure a hassle-free experience for the visitors.
The meeting was attended by all district officers and representatives from relevant departments, demonstrating the collective effort put forth to make the festival a resounding success. The Deputy Commissioner also addressed the security arrangements, urging the Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda to finalize the necessary measures to facilitate a safe and secure environment throughout the festival.

To promote awareness and community participation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Assistant Commissioner of Panchayat to organize a painting competition, focusing on cleanliness and maintaining a pristine environment.
The Chief Medical Officer was instructed to make medical care arrangements during the festival, including the deployment of specialist doctors of orthopedics, gynecology and physician. Moreover, the Principals of Colleges and the Chief Education Officer Doda were directed to prepare student groups for engaging in discussions during the festival, enriching the experience for attendees.
Additionally, the concerned officers were urged to make arrangements for tents to accommodate overnight stays for tourists and visitors. The Deputy Commissioner also encouraged both government and private schools to actively participate in the festival to create a vibrant atmosphere.
With these comprehensive arrangements and a dedicated team of officials, the Youth Conclave/Lal Dramen festival in Doda promises to be an unforgettable event, showcasing the cultural vibrancy and natural beauty of the region.
