DHEW B’gam organizes Awareness Progs on Women Empowerment, BBBP & NMBA

Budgam : The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) on Saturday organized an awareness program focusing on women empowerment, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) and Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) covering Panchayat Chitroo B, Ichigam A, B, C & D, Ichikoot.
The event, held at Chitroo Panchayat Halqa B Budgam, witnessed a remarkable gathering of community members, government officials, social activists, and enthusiastic individuals committed to driving positive change in society.
The programme aimed to raise awareness on crucial issues affecting women and also promoted awareness about gender equality, education for girls, and the eradication of substance abuse.
Afroza Bhat, District Mission Coordinator, emphasized the significance of women empowerment and the role it plays in fostering a progressive society. She encouraged everyone present to actively participate in creating an inclusive environment that empowers women to realize their full potential.
She discussed the importance of equal opportunities for girls in education and career development, providing them with a platform to excel in every field.
Furthermore, she highlighted the government’s flagship initiative, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, which advocates for the rights of the girl child and promotes gender equality. The speakers stressed the need for collective efforts from all sections of society to ensure the protection, education, and overall well-being of girls
Continuing the programme, Gender Specialist, Masroofa Majeed raised awareness on Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan and addressed the challenges posed by substance abuse. She provided valuable insights into the detrimental effects of addiction on individuals, families, and communities. She also discussed preventive measures and rehabilitation programs available to assist those struggling with addiction.
