Awantipora: A two-day auto fest ‘AUTO FUSION – THE AUTO EXPO’ started here on Thursday at the Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora. The fest, organized by the Department of Management Studies, was inaugurated by the Registrar, Islamic University of Science and Technology, Prof. Naseer Iqbal in presence of the Dean, School of Business Studies, Dr. Asif Iqbal Fazili and other officials of the University.
According to a statement issued from Public Relations Office IUST here, the fest is being organized under the aegis of the Student Business Club which offers the students a conducive platform for showcasing their entrepreneurial and managerial abilities. Besides, the fest aims to bring together industry professionals, automobile enthusiasts, and academicians to explore the demand and supply scenario, the latest technological advancements, and emerging requirements of the automobile sector. Several dealership outlets of renowned automobile brands like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Volkswagen, MG, Toyota, Mahindra, Renault, and Tata participated in the event. They opined that such events cultivate collaborative associations between academia and industry which in turn helps academic institutions shape their curriculum in line with the industry requirements.
The Registrar, IUST, Prof. Naseer Iqbal appreciated the efforts of the department for organizing such unique events that help to hone the managerial skills of the students by exposing them to various aspects of business decision-making like planning, organizing, directing, controlling and contingency.
Dr. Asif Iqbal Fazili, Dean, School of Business Studies, admired the efforts of the students in making the event successful. He assured the students that the department is committed to provide all possible resources and necessary guidance for organizing such events in the future. He emphasized that such events are integral to the academic curriculum of the business administration course as they nurture students’ capabilities of managing diverse domains of business operations.
