Horticulture Deptt organises series of orientation programs on HADP in Khour block

Jammu : In a step towards promotion of Holistic Development of Agriculture & Allied Sectors, Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak on Monday chaired the Kissan Samparak Abhiyan on Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in village Lower Narayana of block Khour Jammu.
The programme was attended by Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu Ashwani Sharma; Horticulture Development Officer Khour, Amit Saraf; Sarpanch of the panchayat and PRI members. The programme was also attended by a mammoth gathering of farmers of the panchayat and surrounding areas.
Speaking on the occasion, the Director elaborated different incentives and assistance being provided to the farming community under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme. He sensitized the gathering about the main components of the programme viz: DAKSH- Learning Management System related to skill development, SATHI- Dashboard to apply online for different Government schemes, etc.
He appreciated the efforts of the Mangla Rai Committee for organising the programme covering every aspect of the farmer related issues and also encouraged farmers to come forward to avail incentives under the programme.
Later, the Director launched a plantation drive by planting saplings of Citrus and Mango plants for compact plantation over an area of 100 Kanal in the farmers’ field at village Lower Narayana and Pallanwala respectively.
Meanwhile, the Director addressed a huge public gathering of 200 farmers including women at village Indri of Khour, wherein he briefed them about Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP). He urged farmers to adopt integrated farming in their fields and avail the benefits on different components viz: Bore Well, Water harvesting tanks, Drip irrigation, Mechanization, Protected cultivation, Tools & Implements etc to enhance their income.
Earlier, Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu, Ashwani Sharma welcomed the Director Horticulture Jammu and apprised him about Horticultural developmental schemes being implemented in district Jammu.
