DTF on Measles & Rubella (IMI 5.0) held at Pulwama

ADDC stresses on active participation of educational institutions & PRIs in spreading awareness & sensitizing people

Pulwama: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Pulwama, Dr. Shiekh Abdul Aziz on Monday chaired a meeting of District Task Force (DTF) on Measles & Rubella (IMI 5.0) at Circuit House, Pulwama.
District Immunization Officer Pulwama briefed about the road map for implementation of the campaign and strategies formulated by the Government for Measles, Rubella elimination from the country by 2023.
ADDC stressed on active participation of educational institutions and PRIs in spreading awareness and sensitizing people about the infection of Measles and Rubella. Block Development Officers were directed to continue the awareness at panchayat and Block Level and ensure discussions and resolutions for 100 percent coverage through Gram Sabhas.
He urged the health functionaries of the district to take all possible measures and give focused attention towards the Measles, Rubella elimination in the district.
In order to cater the migratory population and nomads, ADDC directed CEO Pulwama to utilize the services of Mobile teachers in identifying the Children presently in Bahaks in various Pastures.
Officers were directed to adopt the multi-pronged interventions to identify the target at the right time to arrest the disease at the right time through committed effort in order to achieve the objective of the campaign i.e to rapidly build up immunity for both Measles and Rubella diseases and ensure that all the children should receive MR vaccine during the campaign.
The three phased immunization Campaign is starting from 7th august 2023 and will be completed by ending Oct. 2023.
The meeting was attended by CMO, BMOs, MS, CDPOs, DSWO, Ex. Officers MCs and other Officers.
