Srinagar: Hundreds of devotees on Friday thronged the holy Hazratbal Shrine on the banks of Dal Lake on the occasion of annual urs of Hazrat Usman Gani (RA) being celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across the Kashmir valley.
Hundreds of people including men, women and children visited the Hazratbal Shrine, housing Moi-e-Muqaddas, the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to have a glimpse on the occasion on Friday.
A priest displayed the holy relic before the devotees after every Namaz on Friday on the occasion of martyrdom of Hazrat Usman Gani (RA).
Hazrat Usman was the third Caliph of Islam and son-in-Law of prophet Muhammad besides a notable companion.
Special prayers were offered during the day after every Namaz and display of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad for the peace and prosperity of Kashmir valley.
The authorities had made special arrangements for the devotees at the holy shrine.
