Poonch: District Administration Poonch, in collaboration with District Youth Services and Sports Poonch, is going to organize a Zone Level and District Level Cricket tournament under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav.
The tournament is scheduled to start from July 17, 2023 at Zone Level.
Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Yasin M.Choudhary said that the main aim of the tournament was to promote sports culture in the district and engage the youth in productive activities.
The tournament will be held in all 11 blocks and at district level. The award ceremony will be held at the Sports Stadium Poonch on Independence Day where the winner would be given a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 and the Runners-up Rs. 25,000. Consolidation prizes would also be presented among the players.
The Deputy Commissioner has appealed to the people of Poonch to witness the matches and make the tournament a success by bringing more and more people to the event. He also encouraged parents to motivate their children towards sports. This tournament is a great opportunity for the youth to showcase their skills and passion for cricket while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
