Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has destroyed wild bung at Main Market Uri & Bandi Uri, District Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said a police party of Police Station Uri along with Executive Magistrate, officials of Excise Department and agriculture departments carried a special drive against wild bung at Main Market Uri and Bandi Uri, adding therein that during the drive huge quantity of wild bung spread over one Kanal of land was destroyed.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said people of the said areas have widely appreciated the action taken by the Police and assured their full cooperation in future to eradicate the drug menace from the society. Police on this occasion appealed people to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contrabands in their neighbourhood and warned that people found indulging in drug peddling and cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law.
