Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested a militant associate of LeT militant outfit in Baramulla district and also recovered arms and ammunition from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on a specific inputs regarding movement of militants in village Nowpora Jageer Kreeri, Police along with Army (52RR) and 2nd Bn SSB launched cordon and search operation in the said area, adding therein that during search, one suspected person tried to flee after noticing the joint party but was apprehended tactfully and identified as Mohammad Seediq Lone S/o Mohammad Ramzan Lone R/o Nowpora Jageer Kreeri. Police in it’s statement also said that besides, incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including 1 Pistol, 1 Pistol Magazine & 3 Pistol Rounds were recovered from the possession of the said accused.
Police in it’s statement further said “ during preliminary questioning the said accused revealed that he was working as militant associate of LeT militant outfit and was in touch with active militants Adil Dantoo of Sopore and foreign militant Usman Bhai of Pakistan and has also acquired arms & ammunition from these militants for target killing to terrorize people in Baramulla district”. In the concluding para of it’s statement Police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been also registered at Police Station Kreeri and investigation has been initiated.
