DC discusses I-Day arrangements in Doda

Doda: The arrangements for the celebration of Independence Day were discussed at a meeting of senior functionaries of line departments here on Tuesday with the Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan in the chair.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pran Singh; ADC, Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti, besides other District and Sectoral officers attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to organize the main function at Sports Stadium Doda, where the chief guest will unfurl the tricolor and take salute at the March past comprising the contingents of JKP, JKAP, FPF, SSB, NCC and School Children.
It was also decided that a colourful cultural programme will be presented by the School Children and local artists on the occasion. A committee for shortlisting the cultural items was constituted and asked to submit details to the DC office by 5th of August for approval.
The DC constituted a team of officers headed by ADDC Doda for overall supervision of the arrangements.
It was decided that Best Engineers, Best Employees and Best Sports persons in the district shall be felicitated on the day, for which the nominations shall reach the DC office through designated committee by the 10th of August.
Besides, the meeting also constituted committees for Seating arrangement, Display of departmental activities/ government schemes, Venue Management etc for making the event a grand success. All the officers were asked to illuminate the government buildings/assets, markets, and other public places in tricolour to give the district a festive look.
After a thorough discussion, the meeting also took necessary decisions with regard to the arrangements for security, drinking water, power supply at the venue of the function
It was also decided that the function will start with the Shehnai Vadan by the District Information Centre Doda. The DC impressed upon all the officers to put in place all the arrangements well in time for smooth celebration of the Independence Day and observe the day with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. DC directed CEO Doda to ensure maximum participation of Government and Private Schools in the celebrations.
