Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested four persons along with four vehicles who were illegally trying to extract and transport minerals in Baramulla district.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party led by SHO PS Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmad seized four Tippers and arrested four drivers at Chakloo Baramulla for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, besides which the accused drivers were identified as Ab Majeed Lone S/o Mohd Ramzan Lone R/o Zenipora Bomai Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Nabi Dar R/o Jal Sheeri, Gh Nabi Khan S/o Jameel Ahmad Khan R/o Khanpora Baramulla & Mushtaq Ahmad Lone S/o Gh Ahmad Lone R/o Khawajabagh Baramulla.
Stating that the police accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and set into motion the investigation, Police
in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that it will strictly acts against people found indulging in illegal mining activities as per law and appealed people to come forward and share the information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
