Guru Purnima: DC B’pora visits Shardha Mata Mandir, Kaloosa

Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Monday paid a visit to the revered Shardha Mata Mandir in Kaloosa, Bandipora, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima Hawan ceremony.
Guru Purnima, a significant festival in the Hindu tradition, marks the day when disciples express their gratitude towards their spiritual gurus and teachers. This year, the event was magnificently observed at the Shardha Mata Mandir, attracting a multitude of devotees from both the local community, including Musli
The DC along with the Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Lakshay Sharma; Joint Director Planning, Imtiyaz Ahmad; Tehsildar Bandipora and other officers graced the occasion with their presence.
Dr Owais said the hawan ceremony, performed at the Mandir, symbolized the invocation of divine blessings and spiritual harmony. He said it was heartening to witness the enthusiastic participation of devotees, who came from various hamlets to celebrate and seek the divine blessings of Shardha Mata.
In his address, the DC expressed his reverence for Guru Purnima and emphasized the significance of spiritual and cultural practices in fostering unity and harmony within the community.
He lauded the devotion of the attendees and appreciated their commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the region.
Proper arrangements were already put in place like sanitation, availability of drinking water, electricity, etc. at the temple for the celebration of Guru Purnima Hawan ceremony.
Dr Owais said the administration has undertaken various repairs, renovations, and fencing, working alongside the beautification of the temple.
On the occasion, management of the temple requested proper drainage, path, and beautification. Dr. Owais issued on spot instructions to the concerned departments for the fulfillment of demands.
