Jammu: The second batch of 4416 pilgrims on Saturday left for Shri Amanath cave shrine from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp here.
Chanting ‘Bam Bam Bhole”, the pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 186 vehicles for Baltal and Pahalgam routes.
As per official, 1683 pilgrims comprising 1314 males, 306 females, 14 children, 44 Sadhus and five Sadhvis left for Baltal in 92 vehicles.
For Pahalgam, 2733 pilgrims including 2173 males, 310 females, eight children, 227 Sadhus and 22 Sadhvis left the base camp in 94 vehicles.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday flagged off the first batch of Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from here.
The convoy is being escorted under tight security arrangements.
